Ingredients

8tbspunsalted butter

½cupgranulated sugar

2tspvanilla extract

½cupwhole milk

2large eggs

1½cupsflour

1½tspbaking soda

1cupbrown sugar,divided

2Granny Smith apples,peeled, chopped

1tspground cinnamon

1cuppowdered sugar

2tbspwater

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray a 9×5-inch loaf pan with baking spray.

In the stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together for about 1 minute until light and fluffy, on medium speed. Add the vanilla, milk, and eggs one at a time. Add in the flour and baking soda until just combined.

Combine the chopped apples with cinnamon and half the brown sugar in a small bowl, then pour half the batter into the loaf pan.

Add in half the apples evenly over the pan, pour in the remaining batter then place the remaining apples over the batter. Top with the remaining brown sugar.

Bake for 55 to 60 minutes.

Once cooled and removed from the loaf pan, whisk together the powdered sugar and water and drizzle the mixture over the loaf.
