Ingredients

1 lb white mushrooms, whole, raw

6 bacon slices, cured, raw, chopped

½ cup onions, chopped

4 oz cream cheese spread

Preparation

Clean mushrooms, remove and chop stems. Set aside.

Fry bacon in a skillet. Remove with a slotted spoon and set on a paper towel to drain. In the bacon drippings, saute onion and chopped mushroom stems until tender and drain.

Soften cream cheese, then blend in cooked bacon, onions and mushroom stems.

Press mixture into mushroom caps, mounding it a bit. Place in a dish and bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes at 325 degrees F. Serve.
