Ingredients

1 lb flank steak (or top sirloin), thinly sliced, against the grain

½ tbsp corn starch

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp garlic, finely minced or crushed

8 oz mushrooms (white button mushrooms, cremini, or shiitake), sliced

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp ground black pepper

1 tbsp soy sauce

2 green onions, sliced

sesame seeds

Preparation

Sprinkle cornstarch on the beef in a large bowl and toss until lightly coated. Set aside.

Heat olive oil in a wok or skillet over medium high heat. Once oil starts to shimmer, saute garlic and mushrooms for 1 to 2 minutes until garlic is golden brown and fragrant.

Add beef to the wok and stir fry until beef is cooked halfway. Add soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until beef is coated. Stir fry until meat is completely browned.

Remove from heat and pour beef over a bowl of rice or fried noodles. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
