Ingredients

2 cups broccoli florets, blanched, drained, and chopped

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup bacon, chopped

½ cup milk

1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted

1 egg

½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

vegetable oil , roughly 5 to 8 cups, for frying

tomato ketchup, or any dipping sauce of your choice

Preparation

In a mixing bowl, beat together the egg and milk then set aside.

Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.

Make a well at the center of the flour mixture, then pour your liquids. Fold until evenly incorporated.

Add your broccoli, cheese, and bacon. Fold once more until evenly incorporated. Set aside.

Preheat your oil ready for frying then prepare a basket lined with paper towels.

Shape your mixture into 2 ounces of balls either using spoons or an ice cream scoop. Deep fry roughly 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Drain onto your lined basket, then serve immediately with 3 tablespoons of your favorite dipping sauce per serving.
