Ingredients
1cupall-purpose flour
½cupwhite sugar
¼tspground cardamom
1pinchground cinnamon
¼tsplemon peel,grated
¼cupground almonds
6tbspbutter
1egg
2tspmilk
⅓cupgranulated sugar,for decoration
Preparation
Sift together flour, sugar, and spices; stir in peel and almonds. Cut in margarine till mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in egg and milk till mixture forms a ball; chill.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Roll out to about ⅛ inch thickness. Cut into circles 1¾ inches in diameter. Place on ungreased cookie sheets; sprinkle with sugar.
Bake for 6 to 8 minutes until edges are brown.
