Ingredients
16 oz *sugar cookie dough, refrigerated (1 pack)
½ cup maraschino cherries, well-drained on paper towels, chopped
⅓ cup sugar
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, break the sugar cookie dough apart.
Add the cherries and chocolate chips. Knead briefly.
Cover the bowl using plastic wrap. Chill for at least 30 minutes for easier handling.
Shape the dough into balls using a medium 1.25-ounce cookie scoop. Lay them in a parchment paper-lined baking sheet at least 2 inches apart.
Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes or until the cookies are light golden brown.
Allow them to cool in the baking pan for about 3 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
