Ingredients

1tbspactive dry yeast

½tspsugar,plus an additional 1 tbsp

¼cupwarm water,(110 degrees F)

3cupsflour

1cuphot water

½tspsalt

1½tbspbutter,melted

1clovegarlic,minced

⅛cupcheddar cheese,shredded

⅛cupfresh parmesan cheese,shredded

Preparation

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Combine the yeast, ½ teaspoon sugar, and ¼ cup of warm water in a small bowl. Set aside for 5 minutes until foamy.

In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, hot water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and salt. Add in the yeast mixture and gently stir.

Add the remaining flour and stir until completely combined.

Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and roll into the breadsticks. Place on parchment paper.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F while letting the dough rise for about 15 minutes.

In a small bowl, combine the butter and minced garlic. Microwave for 20 seconds or until butter is melted.

Brush the butter mixture over the breadsticks. Top with cheeses.

Bake for 5 to 18 minutes or until golden. Serve warm.
