Ingredients

1½cupsall-purpose flour

3½tspbaking powder

½tspsalt

2tbspgranulated sugar

1cupmilk

½cupheavy cream

1egg,lightly beaten

1tspvanilla extract

3tbspbutter,melted

fresh cherry,pitted

¼cuppowdered sugar

¼cupmaple syrup

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F.

Grease a 9-inch baking tray and set aside.

In a large bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar, then stir to combine.

Pour the milk, cream, egg, vanilla, and melted butter into the flour mixture, then whisk until smooth.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking tray, then arrange the fresh cherries on top. Push the cherries to the bottom of the tray.

Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until cooked through and lightly browned.

Remove from the oven, then let cool to room temperature.

Dust the cake with powdered sugar, then drizzle with maple syrup.
