Ingredients

1½lbsground beef

1tspkosher salt

¼tspcoarse ground black pepper

1white onion,chopped and divided

1green bell pepper,diced

1garlic clove,minced

2tbspchili powder

1tspcumin

¼cupbrown sugar

2cupstomato puree

¼cupketchup

1cupbeef broth

1cupsour cream

1cupcheddar cheese,shredded

Preparation

In a large skillet on medium-high heat, add the beef, salt, pepper, ¾ of the onions, and green bell pepper. Cook well and break it apart but leaving some chunks for about 5 to 6 minutes.

Reduce the heat to medium and add in the garlic, chili powder, cumin, brown sugar, tomato puree, ketchup, and beef broth. Cook until the sauce starts to evaporate and the mixture becomes sloppy for about 5 to 6 minutes.

Spoon the mixture onto the brioche buns and top with sour cream, remaining white onion, and shredded cheddar cheese.
