Ingredients

⅔cupsugar

⅓cupcocoa

3tbspcornstarch

pinchsalt

2¼cupsmilk

1tbspbutter

1½cupsheavy cream,(whipping cream), cold

½cuppowdered sugar

8ozcream cheese,softened

1packageoreo cookies

whipped cream,or whipped topping

Preparation

Place the cookies into a zippered bag, then slightly crush using a rolling pin. They need to be broken up but not completely crushed.

Remove 2 tablespoons of crumbs to set aside for garnish.

In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch and salt, mix well. Add in the cold milk, then stir until combined.

Turn the heat onto medium high, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.

Allow to boil for 1 minute while stirring, remove from heat, then stir in the butter. Cool completely, stirring occasionally to avoid a skin forming.

With an electric mixer, mix the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold in the softened cream cheese until mixed.

Layer the chocolate layer, the crushed cookies, then the cheesecake layer in a small mason jar.

Top with whipped cream and cherries, serve, and enjoy!
