Ingredients
1cupbutter,softened
2cupsflour
⅓cupsugar
¼tspsalt
1½cupscorn syrup
8ozsemi sweet chocolate
1cupsugar
4eggs
½tspalmond extract
1tspvanilla extract
2cupspecans,chopped
2tbspbrown sugar
½tspcinnamon
1tbspbutter
½cuppecans,chopped
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9×13-inch pan with foil and spray well with cooking spray.
Combine the butter, flour, sugar, and salt with a mixer on medium until crumbly. Press into the prepared pan.
Bake the crust for 20 minutes.
Heat the corn syrup and chocolate over low heat just until the chocolate is almost melted. Remove from heat.
Combine the sugar, eggs, almond extract and vanilla extract, then whisk them into the chocolate mixture. Fold in the pecans.
Pour the pecan mixture over the crust. Combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, and pecans, then them sprinkle over tops of the bars.
Bake for 35 minutes or until the edges are firm and center is still slightly soft. Cool completely.
