Ingredients
1½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup beer, or soda water, very cold
1 egg, beaten
¾ tsp msg, or Accent seasoning
¼ tsp salt
5 cups vegetable oil, (to 8 cups), for frying
¼ cup condiment of your choice
Preparation
Preheat your cooking oil ready for frying.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, beer or soda water, egg, your chosen seasoning, and salt. Whisk until it forms a batter, with a few lumps.
Dip the shrimp into the batter, then deep fry in batches for roughly 3 minutes or until it becomes golden brown.
Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain it on a basket lined with paper towels.
