Ingredients

1 cup frozen green peas, thawed

4 tbsp butter, unsalted, room temperature

3 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 cup milk

4 slices toast, buttered

salt and pepper, to taste

4 tbsp bacon, diced, cooked

Preparation

In a large saucepan, melt butter and add flour slowly to thicken it.

When it is almost like a paste, slowly add the milk and whisk to avoid lumps.

Continue stirring on low heat until the mixture thickens.

Add your peas and cook until peas are heated through.

Season to taste with salt & pepper. Adjust accordingly.

Pour hot mixture over a buttered slice of toasted bread.

Garnish with cooked bacon & serve.
