Ingredients
12 oz beer, bottled
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp garlic powder
2 lb halibut, (or cod fillets), skinless and bones removed, sliced into bite-size pieces
oil, for frying
salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation
In a large skillet, heat oil until bubbling.
In a large bowl, gently whisk together the beer and flour.
Season the batter with salt, pepper, and garlic powder then set aside.
Season the halibut with extra salt and pepper before coating in beer batter.
Fry the fish in oil until golden brown then drain on paper towels before serving!
