Ingredients

4lbssweet potatoes,peeled and cut into a 1-inch dice

½cupdark brown sugar

¼cupunsalted butter,melted

1tbspvanilla extract

1tbspwater

1tspcinnamon,ground

1tsppumpkin pie spice

salt,to taste

2tbspbutter,melted

2tbsppecans,chopped

3tbspbrown sugar

Preparation

Add the cubed sweet potatoes to a 6-quart slow cooker.

In a small bowl whisk together brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, water, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice.

Pour the mixture over the potatoes and stir to combine.

Cover the potatoes with the slow cooker lid and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours or until tender.

Mash potatoes until smooth.

Top with topping mixture, cover and let cook for 5 minutes.
