Ingredients

1¼ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup brown sugar

⅔ cup cocoa powder

½ tsp salt

½ tsp baking powder

12 fl oz root beer, (1 can), preferably Dr Pepper

½ cup bittersweet chocolate chips

1 tsp ground cinnamon

maraschino cherries, or whipped cream, or ice cream of your choice

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease your preferred baking pan.

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, and cinnamon.

Add the brown sugar and mix to combine.

Pour the rootbeer into the bowl and stir until it is well blended into the brownie batter.

Evenly fold the chocolate chips into the batter.

Transfer the batter into the greased baking pan and bake the brownies for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a tester comes out clean.

Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.

Cut them into equal proportions, and you can serve them with some cherries or either whipped cream or ice cream.
