Ingredients
1½ cups powdered sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 egg, beaten
1½ tsp vanilla extract
2½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
2 cups milk
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Grease and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Sift together flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda. Set aside.
Cream together butter and powdered sugar until fluffy and has doubled in volume.
Add the egg and vanilla extract. Continue creaming.
Sift and fold the flour mixture into the butter mixture until evenly incorporated.
Prepare the parchment paper then place your cookie dough on top.
Roll the dough into a log roughly 5 centimeters in diameter and transfer to a chilled area.
Rest the dough for 2 hours, roll it out, and cut into shapes roughly 1-centimeter thick.
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes until the edges are light brown. Let them cool and serve with a glass of milk or your favorite drink.
