Ingredients
1/4 cup butter , add more as necessary
4 apples, cored and cut into 1/2-inch rings
1/2 cup dry white wine , or apple juice
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
Whipped cream, if desired
Preparation
Melt butter in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Cook several apple rings at a time, turning once, until golden brown.
Once all the apple rings are cooked, return all of them to the skillet.
Mix wine, lemon juice, ginger and cinnamon. Pour over apples and sprinkle with sugar.
Cover and cook over medium heat about 5 minutes or just until apples are tender and glazed.
Serve warm with whipped cream if desired.
