Ingredients
2.2 lb chicken, cut into pieces
2 tbsp salt
5 garlic cloves
1 oz ginger
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp broth powder
½ tsp ground black pepper
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tbsp ginger, chopped
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 tsp sweet soy sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
Preparation
Rub the chicken with salt and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
Prepare a large pot filled with water and fitted with a steamer. Heat it up to medium or until steamy and small bubbles form.
While waiting, blend together the steamed seasoning ingredients using a blender or mortar and pestle.
Coat the chicken with steamed seasoning. Steam the chicken for 1 hour or until tender and fully cooked.
Heat up a shallow pan to medium. Add oil and saute garlic and ginger until slightly brown.
Transfer the spices to a heat-proof bowl. Add the sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix.
Cut the steamed chicken and serve with sauce.
