Ingredients
2 cups pears, green, or any pears of your choice for baking, (preferably anjou, bosc, and or concorde pears), peeled and sliced
2 cups strawberries, trimmed and halved or quartered depending on size
½ cup granulated sugar
2½ tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp lemon juice, or lime juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
⅛ tsp salt
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
⅓ cup rolled oats
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
¼ cup pecans, or almonds (flakes or slivers), roasted and chopped
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
⅛ tsp salt
1 oz vanilla ice cream, or any ice cream of your choice
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine all your ingredients for the filling in a mixing bowl then set aside.
For the topping, sift together your flour, cinnamon, and salt in a mixing bowl.
Add your oats, sugar, and roasted nuts then stir to combine.
Add the butter into your topping mixture. Rub and mix with your hands until it resembles pea-sized lumps.
Pour the filling into your baking casserole (no need to grease), then sprinkle the topping on top.
Bake for roughly 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. You may need to broil for another 10 minutes in case your topping is not golden brown.
Once baked, set aside to cool down completely at room temperature. Portion and serve with ice cream.
