Ingredients
4lbschicken,cut into 8 pieces
4cupsbuttermilk
1tbspsalt
3cupsall-purpose flour
0.7ozdry Italian-style salad dressing mix,(1 package)
1tsppoultry seasoning
½tspsalt
1tspground black pepper
oil,for frying
Preparation
In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the chicken, buttermilk and salt. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
Heat the oil in deep-fryer to 375 degrees F.
In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, Italian dressing mix, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, then coat well with the flour mixture. Let set on a plate for about 10 minutes.
Fry in hot oil for 20 minutes until the meat is no longer pink, and the breading is golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
