Ingredients

½tbspolive oil

⅓cupgreen onions,thinly sliced

1lb85% ground beef

¾cuptomato sauce,canned

½cuplow-sodium beef broth,or low-sodium beef bone broth

½tbsptomato paste

1tbspmonkfruit sweetener,or granulated sugar

1tbspworcestershire sauce

1tspred wine vinegar

1tspchili powder

½tspsea salt

½tspprepared yellow mustard

1pinchred pepper flakes,crushed

1pinchblack pepper

lettuce

cheese,optional

chopped parsley,optional

Preparation

In a large frying pan, heat up the olive oil on medium-high. Add in the green onions and cook for 1 minute.

Add in the ground beef and cook for about 5 minutes until no longer pink, breaking it up as it cooks.

Whisk all the remaining ingredients, up to the parsley, together in a bowl. Pour into the cooked beef and bring to a boil.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for about 9 to 10 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

Spoon the mixture over lettuce and top with cheese and parsley, if desired.
