Ingredients
1½tsprice wine
2tbspcornstarch
1egg white
1½lbspork loin,(about 24 slices), or tenderloin, sliced thinly into rectangle-shaped pieces
2tspvegetable oil
2tspginger,fresh, grated
1tbspgarlic,fresh, minced
¾cupCoca-Cola®
1½cupshoisin sauce
⅓cuplow sodium soy sauce
1tspsesame oil,toasted
¼cupbrown sugar
2tspcornstarch
1bunchscallions,chopped, for garnish
Preparation
Soak six-inch skewers in water while you prepare meat. Whisk together the rice wine, cornstarch, and egg white until frothy.
Coat the meat in the mixture and marinate for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Thread the meat onto skewers, and set aside.
Add the vegetable oil to a pan and stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds over medium heat. Whisk in all the other ingredients except for green onions. Let the sauce simmer and thicken for about 5 minutes.
Grill the skewers on a BBQ grill, under the broiler, or on a stovetop grill pan for 3 minutes per side, until cooked through and lightly browned. Remove skewers and place them on a serving platter.
Coat them with the heated sauce and garnish with chopped scallions.
Serve and enjoy.
