Ingredients
1tbspvegetable oil,or as needed
5shallots,sliced
1tomato,chopped
5clovesgarlic,chopped
5red chile peppers,dried, chopped
1½tbspground coriander
1tbspground cumin
1tspblack mustard seed
1tspground turmeric
1tspground black pepper
2cupswater
1white radish,peeled and sliced
salt,to taste
2green onions,sliced
1sprigcilantro leaves,chopped
Preparation
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Saute shallots, tomato, and garlic for 3 to 4 minutes until softened. Add red chiles, coriander, cumin, mustard seed, turmeric, and black pepper.
Cook and stir for 8 to 10 minutes until thick paste forms. Pour in water; add radish and season with salt.
Simmer for about 7 minutes until small bubbles appear. Remove from heat; stir in green onions and cilantro.
