Ingredients
¾cupshortening
1½cupsbrown sugar,packed
2eggs
1tspvanilla extract
3cupsall-purpose flour
3tbsporange flavored drink mix,like Tang®
1½tspbaking powder
½tspsalt
1tspbaking soda
½cupbuttermilk
1cupwhite chocolate chips
1tspbutter
3tbsporange flavored drink mix,like Tang®
1cupconfectioners’ sugar
3tbspwater
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease the baking sheets.
Cream the shortening and brown sugar together in a bowl until light. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Add in the flour, 3 tablespoons of drink mix, baking powder, and salt.
Dissolve the baking soda into the buttermilk in a separate bowl, then stir it into the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk mixture. Stir in the white chocolate chips.
Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
In a small bowl, blend together the butter, 3 tablespoons of orange drink mix, and confectioners’ sugar until smooth.
Mix in the water 2 teaspoons at a time until a pourable consistency is reached.
Frost cookies while still hot with orange glaze, serve warm, and enjoy!
