Ingredients
3 oz red onion, chopped
15 oz tomatoes, (1 can), crushed
4 cups penne pasta, cooked
½ cup vodka
1 lb ground beef
2 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp chili flakes
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup parmesan cheese, shredded or powdered, divided
salt and ground black pepper , to taste
parsley, chopped
Preparation
In a large pot over medium-high heat, heat oil. Saute the onions until translucent.
Add beef and saute until the ground beef is cooked through, breaking up the meat when necessary.
Add tomatoes and saute briefly.
Deglaze with vodka and reduce briefly.
Increase the heat and let the meat sauce simmer until it reduces by half.
Add the cream, ¼ cup of the cheese, and then the pasta. Stir well.
Season with salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Adjust accordingly.
After 3 minutes, remove from the heat, add parmesan cheese and serve!
