Ingredients
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup milk
¼ cup sugar
⅛ tsp salt
6 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
3 drops peppermint oil
sweetened whipped cream, for garnish
chocolate shavings, for garnish
Preparation
Combine the milk, cream, sugar and salt in a pot over medium-low heat.
Stir occasionally until mixture starts steaming, then add in the chocolate. Continue stirring until the chocolate melts fully.
Remove from heat and add the peppermint oil, then stir until fully incorporated.
Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, and serve.
