Ingredients

4 tbsp unsalted butter

4 large eggs

1 cup milk

¼ cup pizza sauce

1½ cups all-purpose flour

¼ tsp salt

½ tsp onion powder

½ tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning, or pizza seasoning

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

½ cup pepperoni, chopped into ¼-inch pieces

cooking spray

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Coat a muffin pan with cooking spray. Place it inside the oven.

In a large bowl, briefly whisk the eggs and milk. Add the pizza sauce, then the flour, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine.

Take out the pans from the oven and quickly put in a teaspoon of butter for each hole. Afterward, pour the batter evenly into the pan.

Bake the batter in the oven for 20 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees F.

After 15 minutes, remove the popovers from the oven and quickly stuff mozzarella and pepperoni into each one.

Once you’re done stuffing the popovers, rebake them in the oven for 5 minutes until they become golden brown.

Take them out of the pan and transfer them to a cooling rack.

Serve hot and enjoy your freshly baked popovers!
