Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking soda

2 tsp salt

1 lb butter, unsalted and softened

3 cups dark brown sugar

4 large eggs , room temperature

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup unsweetened cocoa

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Using a mixer with the whisk attachment, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the vanilla extract and cocoa powder, mixing to combine.

Gradually add the eggs, beating with each addition, until smooth.

Fold in sifted flour ingredients into the wet mixture, forming the batter.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Grease the baking tray with non-stick cooking spray, and line with parchment paper.

Spoon dough onto the sheets using an ice cream scoop.

Place into oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

Take the cookie sheets out. Let cool and serve.
