Ingredients

¼cupolive oil

½yellow onion,diced

3clovesgarlic,minced

28oztomatoes,crushed

6oztomato paste

2tsporegano,dried

2tspbasil,dried

1tspkosher salt

1tspsugar

¼tspred pepper,crushed

½cupchicken broth,or water

Preparation

Add the olive oil and onion to the pan and sauté on medium low until very lightly browned.

Add the garlic and let cook for 15 seconds or so until the garlic starts to release its aroma.

Add in the rest of the ingredients and simmer, covered, on low for 30 minutes.
