Ingredients

¼cupwhite sugar

1tbspwater

½tspcayenne pepper

1½cupspecan halves

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Line a 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan with foil or parchment paper.

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, water, and cayenne pepper.

Stir and bring to a boil, then let boil for 2 minutes.

Remove the pan from heat, then gently stir in nuts until evenly coated and the sugar mixture begins to thicken.

Spread the nuts over the prepared baking pan.

Bake for 15 minutes until browned.

Remove the pan from the oven and let the nuts cool.

Place the nuts in a plastic bag, then gently tumble together to remove any excess glaze.

Serve warm, and enjoy!
