Ingredients

1 lb green split peas, picked over

3 stalks celery, chopped

1 tbsp dried parsley

1 tsp dried thyme

¾ tsp black pepper

1 large onion, chopped

1 bay leaf

8 cups water, cold

1 tsp salt

Preparation

Put all ingredients in crockpot and mix well.

Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or until peas are tender.

Stir occasionally. Serve when done.
