Ingredients

1 cup low fat milk, or water

2 tsp pure maple syrup

pinch salt

¼ cup quick cooking grits

2 tbsp raisins, dried cranberries or chopped dried fruit

Preparation

In a saucepan combine milk or water, maple syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

Slowly add the grits while whisking. Then lower heat to medium.

Cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until grits has thickened. Stir occasionally.

Let it settle for 1 minute. Sprinkle raisins or dried fruit just before serving.
